What You Need to Know About Multi-Art Backers

FOR PAINTING, MOSAICS AND MORE!

Multi-Art backers come in lots of sizes and shapes - some are squares, rectangles, circle backers, and more which are cut from maple wood, and perfect for mosaics, painting, wood burning and whatever you can imagine. These backers are for Interior use ONLY and are either 1/4" or 1/8" thick. We recommend a sawtooth hanger as well. 

These maple wood backers offer several advantages for artists: durability of wood, thickness which is easy to frame, smooth surface for painting, natural color of maple, stability, eco-friendliness, and keeps costs lower if you use paints.

For mosaics:

• Before you begin, seal all surfaces and edges with 1/2 weld bond and 1/2 water. Brush on, let dry before starting your mosaic.
• Use Weld Bond for adhesive. 
• Sanded grout works well.
• Paint edges and back if desired with acrylic paints. 
  
• Hanging: We recommend a sawtooth hanger as well. 

For painters:

• No sanding or surface smoothing required.
• Acrylic and oil paints work well.
• Hanging: We recommend a sawtooth hanger as well.
