These are classic rectangles and squares. Skeewbackers are waterproof, rot proof, ultra lightweight, clean, and easy to work with. You can cut them with a utility knife if you like. There is no preparation, other than your hanging kit installation first, and no need to seal them. Watch how to install the hanging kits.
They are constructed from a rigid polystyrene foam core sandwiched between waterproof membranes. You can frame them, hang them, or permanently install them. If you wish to paint the edges, use appropriate paints with no solvents, as solvents will compromise thefoam core center. You can also put grout or thinset over the edges.
Select from lots of sizes in either 1/4" or 1/2" thicknesses. If you plan to hang it, you can add a hanging system designed for the backer, or you can use your own. Remember, install hanging kit before you start to mosaic. All our backers are perfect for indoor and outdoor!
Add amirror! Mosaic around mirror for a great wall hanging. Choose a Skeewbacker Classic and add a mirror to it. Great for selling at art and craft fairs or to spice up your own space!

Thanks Lou Ann. I have purchased your backers for my first mosaic project and am finding them great to use. - Liz F.
I really like both products & am working on a backsplash for behind our stove! I was just talking with my instructor about it last week. I like it better than the Wedi board because it's lighter! She is a mosaic artist who is extremely talented - I am so lucky to be working with her! I am supposed to get back to her on the costs of your materials so she can check it out. Thanks for checking in - I will most likely be ordering the backing again in the future! - Chris S.
Hi, Lou Ann. I love the Skeewbackers. Such an advance from when I first started mosaics several years ago. I am self-taught and really pretty unskilled, when I see the photos of what others in the Tribe are making! But it doesn't matter -- I'm having fun! - Jane T.
